I caught Damon Fowler at Skippers Smokehouse the other night. In fact, I was lucky enough to get Damon to let me sit in for a song. Actually it was my friend Kenny Torvik’s birthday that night and Kenny talked Damon into let me sit in. What a good friend.
Anyway, it was a great night for all. The weather was perfect. The crowd was primed. And Damon was in great form. If you haven’t been introduced to Damon, he’s probably one of the top new, young blues guitarists on the scene. You can learn more about him here on this page. And that’s not just my opinion. The great blues label Blind Pig Records signed him and he’s got many fans across the country. Check out his reviews on this page.
Opening for Damon was another great young blues guitarist, Joel Tatangelo. He’s a super slide guitarist in the style of Derek Trucks or Sonny Landreth. Definitely worth checking out here on his Reverb Nation page. You can hear him on the jam we did on the last video here on this page. Enjoy!
