Caught the great young blues guitarist Damon Fowler at The Palladium Sidedoor in St. Petersburg on 8/24/12. I must confess, I’ve known Damon for about 15 years, back when he was the local wunderkind, but haven’t seen him very often since then. He has gone through many musical changes during that time as can be expected from a young guitarist who is still learning his craft.
He keeps getting better and better. In fact I just did a search for “best young blues guitarists” on Google and came up with this…

Guess I should have been paying more attention to this great local treasure who got signed to Blind Pig Records a few years ago.
The Palladium Sidedoor
This is a great showcase for Damon. The Sidedoor at the Palladium is a small, intimate venue where Damon can show his mellower side to an appreciative audience. And that’s exactly what happened this Friday night in August. Only got three songs from the first set here, but I think you’ll agree Damon was on fire this night.
